In a short period of time, the Ben McHugh directed independent short has blossomed in the festival circuit. Now the film has impressed the 2022 Spring Awards of the Golden Bridge Istanbul Short Film Festival (GBISFF). The #GBISFF focuses on independent projects from Turkey and around the world. This is Godfrey's 4th lead acting prize for the role.

Godfrey wins Best Actor @NISFF
The third time is charming at the 2022 New York Istanbul Short Film Festival (NISFF). Godfrey J. Rayner's performance in Ben McHugh's Gregory has nabbed another international indie award and a third award for the Best Actor category.
McHugh's thoughtful and personal project is heartfelt and winning over audiences at film festivals. Gregory also received an award for Best Original Score. The NISFF gathers talent not only from The USA and Turkey but also from around the globe.

Godfrey Wins Best Supporting Actor
Fresh Air up for best Short
The Long Island International Film Expo has taken the commute and enjoyed the ride. LIIFE has awarded Godfrey J. Rayner Best Supporting Actor in a short feature for his performance in The Long Commute. This is the second acting award for Godfrey J. Rayner in a year. The annual celebration of independent films also nominated Fresh Air for best short film.
"I'm over the moon," he said, after getting the news, "I thank everyone for their encouragement and support."
Godfrey also went home with the Best Actor award at August's Brightside Film Tavern Festival for the short film: Fresh Air.
The festival will be held from September 30 to October 8 both virtually and via drive in locations.
'Commute' and 'Air' make it in LIIFE
The Long Commute and Fresh Air have been accepted into 2020's Long Island International Film Festival Expo (LIIFE). This annual celebration of independent filmmaking is from September 30th to October 8th. Awards are given for: Best Director, Best Story, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Long Island Film, Best Student Film, Best Animation, Best Foreign Film, Best Web Series and other special categories.
Godfrey J. Rayner stars in both short films. Previously, The Beaufort International Film Festival recognized The Long Commute and Godfrey received Best Actor for Fresh Air in the 2019 Brightside Tavern Film Festival.
#BIFF Takes the Commute
Godfrey J. Rayner, (Director) Miguel Garzón Martínez, and Anthony Robert Grasso were in Beaufort, South Carolina for the Beaufort International Film Festival. Rayner and Grasso starred in The Long Commute that was nominated for Best Actor and Best Short Film in the 2020 annual event.
The Long Commute was screened Friday February 21st at 11:15 a.m., Grasso, Martinez, and Rayner were on hand to answer questions.
